Are you ready for an exciting, challenging, salaried year abroad?
Want to experience the culture and customs of China first-hand?
If so, TEiC is for you
Running in conjunction with the China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) and China Services International, Teach English in China (TEiC) is an international work-travel program with a difference.
TEiC is jointly conducted by KITS (Knowman International Talent Service), and it’s overseas partner organizations. KITS matches candidates with schools and educational institutions.
After an incredible year of teaching and learning in China many participants invariably become cultural ambassadors by sharing their experiences with friends and family back home.
The Teach English in China(TEIC)Program is technically open to native English speakers from US, UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. However, if you are not a native English speaker but can speak English fluently, KITS can also help you take advantage of this great opportunity.
KITS and your host school will provide full support during your working period. Plus more opportunities are available if you decide to extend your stay.
The lifestyle you live as a Teacher is very much up to you. You will only be teaching for approximately 20 hours a week; ( of course you will need to allocate some time for lesson planning) and the rest of the time is yours to spend as you please.
Many institutions employ at least two Teaching Assistants, and some have other foreign language teachers, so you will instantly become part of a multi-cultural community. China is full of expatriates working and enjoying life in this ancient land. There are lots of opportunities to discover new foods, experience the nightlife, learn a new language, or play your favorite sport. In fact, after the Beijing Olympics, the focus on sports is even more evident than before The Chinese people are hospitable and eager to engage with you. Your initiation starts with the Orientation Session upon your arrival followed by traditional teacher training methods and cultural exploration activities throughout your stay.
Accommodations are safe and secure, fully furnished, located on campus and provisioned with modern amenities, such as television, wi-fi connection, shower and washing machine. Most apartments have double beds. You will either have your own apartment or share a two-bedroom apartment with another Teacher of the same sex from this program. Utilities are included as part of your compensation or you are provided an allowance for these expenses. Shared accommodations, unless with a partner, are very unusual.
Non-teaching partners and families may be able to live with you, although they will need to pay for their own airfares.
To participate in the program no previous experience is necessary; all you need to be is a college graduate with a Bachelor’s degree or better and be fluent in English Whether you’re a recent graduate unsure of whats next, a professional in a career rut, or a retiree looking for your next adventure, TEiC could be the exciting opportunity you’ve been waiting for.
Do something very different for a year; learn Mandarin; explore China, expand your horizons and exceed your expectations.
